Post wheat, nothing aside from seedPost OSR or wheat? Any fert?
It's only that good because of recent conditions. Looked fairly poor at the start of OctoberNice work
You must have decent background fertility there
So what is your plan with this going forward to the spring ? Graze it , burn off and drill with disc drill?View attachment 237008
If you pull the plants up straight, some are now getting on for chin height. Amazing October

Not sure about the mineralisation, just look at the plots in the drill trial; no real difference. Trash clearing yes.your going to get a lot of benefit from that, looks great
I reckon your drill does a better job of cc's than a disc drill, the bit of movement helps with N plus your trash clearing
Got an infestation of woollies. Pleasingly they are congregated on the stony top of the hill where the soil and cc are thinnest, l am hoping that they will continue to fertilise this in preference to the lush ground at the bottom. Oats now flowering, I imagine last night's frost will trim them up a bit.
It would make a dreadful mess. Think I'll roll a bale or two of straw out to encourage them to hang out there (at the draughtiest spot in Hertfordshire) and at least get a nice shitty mulchFence them at the top of the field, silage mow the lush stuff at the bottom, scoop up with telehandler and tip over the fence to feed them?
If Adam Henson is getting a ton to the acre extra after his cover crop, your should give you 3tons extra. Looks wellView attachment 237008

A couple of years back I had 90ac out of a 110ac field in summer fallow drilled with @Pedders Legumix. The remaining 20ac was drilled with WB the previous autumn. If Adam Henson is getting a ton to the acre extra after his cover crop, your should give you 3tons extra. Looks well
I would be interested to see the nodules on peas and vetch, that's where the yield benefit will come from next yearHere's a snap of our @Pedders Radtill mix drilled 12th Aug. I guess it shows the lack of temperature up this way!View attachment 245920View attachment 245922
