Salesmen must think the mowers are getting old! View attachment 829017View attachment 829018
Any opinions?
I'd gladly take another set of old style kuhns if anyone knows where there is any?
We were once told by mechanic that worked at our local machinery dealership that sold both kuhn and class "if you hit something with a kuhn front mower ring me, I'll come sort it. If you hit something with a class front mower, ring the insurance"

Have you had a chance to try the Deere or the Claas yet? I hear the Claas is hard to drive especially with 11ft backs. From what I'm hearing if you tried the new Kuhns you wouldn't want the old ones. The power requirement of the new ones with 11ft backs seems similar to the old type 10fts.

:banghead: what is better with new style kuhns? Problems at 1st glance is front mower is massive and 18inch longer, rears sit very wide and no side shift. So basically look awkward getting in places.
I haven't driven them and the first thing I said when I saw them was the size of the front mower, but I haven't heard of any problems getting into places. The steel tine conditioner on the new ones is the main plus point, it gets rid of the grass so there's less chance of the mowers blocking. Isn't there individual adjustment for the overlap on each rear mower rather than side shift? In theory it should be a better system, allowing you to run less overlap in ideal conditions.

More concerned about side shift for getting round trees and in gates etc, I'm sure they'll be fine in the field although steel conditioner on current front is no better than plastic one.

But you need operators thankfully my younger brother is shaping up to be a good one, I’m not I’m flat to the mat
