Buying a second hand digger for farm use. Whats the best make to go for, there seems plenty of JCBs and Kubotas to choose from.

we have a 4.5t vovlo at work and find it a cracking little machine for draining and ditching work. Seems to have more reach and breakout force than others in its class weve had on demo and can fairly throw stuff around when required.

Personally I would get a Kubota, we've got a 2.7t on the farm which is a cracking tool. my uncle has got a 1.7,2.7 and 6t Kubota and gets on well with them all. I've heard good things about Volvo too

Last spring we'd got a bit of a building job planned, so I dug deep and purchased a 6 ton terex, we have since layed over 400 metres drainage, cleared a lot of ditches and serviced the farm track.

Im over the moon with it, very handy, strong and powerful and definitely one of my better purchases.

Looks tidy.... what did that cost MB?

I seem to have Wildes on fast dial these days and been wondering about a 3-5t machine for here.

I've a Volvo ec55 had it 4 years driven most other makes and owned a CAT and Hitachi, before but the Volvo is unbelievable machine really hard wearing built strong fantastic long reach will definitely buy another after this, other than one new track several oil pipes and regular servicing are the only costs I've had
