Wondering if anyone has been here before so they can share some advice please.
Had oil leaking down the front of the power quad and sprayed everywhere by the drive shaft.

managed to narrow it down to the steering column to find one of the hoses leaking that goes to the orbitrol valve. It changes to steel and under the cab and turns towards and over the fuel tank. Do I order a pipe from jd or run it in all rubber? Seems a bit tight through the floor but I haven’t cut all the silicon away that was splodged round it from new.

comments appreciated…… maybe @Phil P or @NZ Tech might have an idea (y)

I’ve seen plenty of people replace with just rubber but it will need some spiral rap to stop chafing where it goes through the floor. Those pipes can flex quite a bit every time the steering is moved hence the metal bit.

Now Then..
I always replace both hoses at the same time with genuine parts. I've seen home made hoses installed but they don't last very long..
Got my new hoses a while back……. Not much change out of £350 though.

I see a heavy silicon type compound was used at the base of the steering column which was presumably to prevent the movement of the pipes under pressure. What sealant would you suggest to replace it with? RTV doesn’t go off too well when it’s in a big blob.

thanks in advance.

e hoses as they enter the cab, ?? There is some silicone around the gasket from the factory.. However, I rarely put any around it..
Either of the 2 in the picture will do. The black tube is from Toolstation, the other is from John Deere..
