Yes, that red bit will be changing.
Pleased we've been able to mount without cutting drilling or welding the JD chassis so drill can be returned to original if needed.
yes that's nice to be able to take it back to original form, I would fit your guttler wheels before finally fitting tank while you still have some head room!!

Nutristart and Microcast start/stop switching View attachment 185512

I wasn't sure about taking a switch like that off the metering wheel, I thought it might turn on and off when the wheel bounced. I got my Dad to build a control box that changed the pulsed voltage of the metering unit back into a continuous 12v so that it could then switch a relay which in turn would turn the micro metering unit on/off. The result is that the micro metering unit runs/stops when the drill motor runs and stops. If anyone is interested I could ask him if he could make a few more. He also made two ammeters that go in the cab and display the current drawn by the micro metering unit and it's fan so that you can see from the cab if either stops.

Reason for the switch there is wheel drops 1st and quickly and lifts 1st so quick stop at ends.
I think there is plenty of clearance when in work. Looked at the JD magnetic switch but decided not to interfere with it.

David,
As soon as the metering wheel drops the motor starts to run. If it doesn't get a signal from the metering wheel within about 5 seconds or if the signal stops the motor will then stop. By running the micro or fert units off the drill motor will give you just as fast starting of metering as the switch on the wheel but it will eliminate the risk of stopping fert units if the metering wheel bounces. Also if you just stop in the field with the coulters down ( I do this to check seeding depth ) the fert unit would stop, and you could start it manually without having to lift the coulters

we have finger micro switches on our wheel for avadex and fert system, with seem fine and are a simple solution

they are way to out the way when in work for bounce, certainly hasn't been a problem so far anyway

I will get a pic next time I'm near it

Big advantage it switches off automatically when you stop moving. Many times, I have stopped with drill in ground and forgotten to turn off fert or lowered drill to fill up with seed without switching to manual

Noted Simon, it'll get a trial on some CC to start with, I'll see how it goes and talk to you if a mod is needed.
