So if you are using Gps if you Stop moving the fert etc should stop anyway??
best not to do it that way as on a VRA system the rate will cut down as you slow and stop meaning that when you start again it has a delay in getting itself back up to correct rate

How critical is the fert placement and pipe geometry, besides just getting the fert landing over the seed row?
Frustrating that. I got a pair of redback boots sent over from Oz last week for £25 but getting stuff from the USA can still be a pain
half the USA still refuses to believe there are in fact any other countries I think !
its not critical, but you don't want the pipes to blocked or get ripped off / crushed or worn through etc. space is quite tight around the business end of a 750a coulter

I tried my drill the other day on a cover crop with water going through the system just to try them out, the only ones that did bend up were the pipes that were protruding by 1mm out of the boot other wise no problems so far, fingers crossed

Because?
Soil getting carried around the firming wheel and breaking / blocking them
Worked ok in very dry but not a success when any moisture
Our current set up is about our 4th attempt. So far drilling covers seems to work very well
