Just looking to swap our 6m harrow for an 8m. Kuhn, Maschio and Alpego are the options. Does anyone run one or have any experience of them? Just after some users views, they all have their differences. We’ve a;ways had Kuhn but they are 28 rotors compared to 32. Kuhn has the clod board on the trough where as the others have it on the packer linkage. Also quite a bit heavier over all.
cheers

Have you looked at the SKY Agriculture (formerly Sulky) power harrows?
They have 4 rotors per meter giving you the 32 rotors. You'll find it is a lot easier to pull and uses less fuel with more rotors and it will give a finer tilth.
Nigel Quinn AMS have several customers across the country running 8m & 6m Sulky power harrows.

I ended up buying a Kuhn following some positive comments. The sulky seems to be only rated to 360hp and with past experience on our land I’d like to have a gearbox rated to more than what’s hanging off the front.

Not yet, we have kept it as a back up. We were doing 1800acres through the 6m each summer. It can now take a break and hopefully the 8m will get around it far quicker but it’s there if something goes wrong.
