Next project for the same Merlo is an adaptor frame to take euro and Trima buckets

It started out as a euro carriage, some channel and Merlo brackets.

He wanted it attached to the pins so it could be reclaimed at some time in the future

Ready for use as with euro attachments, next to attack the carriage with a cutting disc to see if I can make it accept Trima hooks

Next was moving widening the gap at the bottom as the eyes on the bottom of the Trima sit narrower than the euro. Also durnthe geometry of the Trima the bottom bar needs to move back so first thing was to weld on temp straps to hold the cheeks in the correct place and remove the bottom bar.

Brackets for the eyes welded back in place and the bar tacked in place. The bar was on and off a few times to get the correct placement. I had a set of euro hooks but had to keep going back to my mates to try on the Trima buckets as he was using them daily.

I decided that there was too much slack on the locking pin on the merlo end. (Read that as I welded the cross member in the wrong place!) so made a shin to weld into the top of the locking plate.

The auger bucket pictured below was a bit problematic, the Trima brackets on it seemed to have tighter tolerances so I have to move the bottom bar again and rotate the eccentric sleeves on the top bar

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
