Old man was a bit achy when he was your age, particularly his knees. He put it down to wearing Noras on concrete for 30 years. No, not specifically for this.
I don’t think he’ll be too enamoured by me if I just rock up and say I’m a bit achy!
Having been through several bouts of crippling back pain over the years I’ve been told that pain that moves around is a “good” pain. If it’s in one place and relentless it’s a bad thing.
One of the best things I do each day is get home and have a lie down on the floor for twenty minutes each evening. I feel much better after that.
I spend about 15-20 minutes stretching and exercising every morning too, with a routine given me by chiropractors over the years. That’s definitely a good thing.
Aye-up,
I’ve been wondering for the last couple of winters if there is any use in taking joint supplements.
This year I seem worse than ever, mostly because I now have a job where I’m on my feet all day.
Have any of you tried them? If so, are they worth it?

your not on statin's are you? muscle and joint pain can be horrendous , i was on to high dose it almost became suicidalNo. Well, we’ve considered it, but got away for three days in the last three years!
I’m 53, often been a bit achy over the years, but it’s pretty much constant now. Not unbearable by any standards, but niggling and draining all day.
I think I’ve got some arthritis in the big joints on my feet leading to my big toes as well. They are often tender and if I knock them they make me go through the roof!
It seems there is something aching every day. Not everything, every day, but always something.
But then I think to myself, buck up you pillock, loads of people have huge health problems to deal with!
Sounds like you have gout !No. Well, we’ve considered it, but got away for three days in the last three years!

Cheers, Pete.
Next time you see the doc ask for a blood test for uric acid levels - if they are too high you can get gout and it will make joints ache. A simple pill controls it.No. Why do you ask that? I don’t know much about it.
I tried stopping my statin for 3 months - Didn't make a blind bit of difference to achy legs!your not on statin's are you? muscle and joint pain can be horrendous , i was on to high dose it almost became suicidal
perhap's you hadn't been taking twice the dose recomended for the other drug's you were taking, halved the dose and in 10 day's as differant again. that had taken 8 years of my life away doc just said it was my age and the job i was doing, thank goodness for a new doc and him picking up on it, if he hadn't i think i would have been gone long ago!I tried stopping my statin for 3 months - Didn't make a blind bit of difference to achy legs!

A friend convinced him to go to the doc who diagnosed anaemia caused by colon cancer. Once he'd recovered from surgery and chemo, his aching knees were much improved. Put it down to better muscle condition put on after he ceased being anaemic.
So yeh, could be nothing. Could be something tho. Get it checked.
aye up ,which ones did you buy pedro ?and are they still working ? @Cab-over PeteProgress.
Long story short, someone suggested I try some insoles for metatarsalgia.
They are definitely worth a try if you are aching. Within 2-3 days the relief was remarkable.
I went field walking in my wellies yesterday and didn’t give the insoles a thought. I was back to square one last night, aching from head to foot.
Probably the best £25 I’ve ever spent and I would highly recommend them.
