Agri Dealers etc

I'm not sure if this is happening in every area, yet there seems to be a lot of independent agricultural dealers starting up, even in the limited time that I have been involved in farming the AgriTrader has thickened quite dramatically! Everywhere you look there seems to be a new company selling machinery, spares etc, is this diluting the main agents? I do wonder what sort of back up they have in place..

I appreciate that how things work, yet some of these smaller companies are selling New Branded Products as well!

It’s competition for the main dealers. But if they can sell a decent product and keep spares on the shelf rather than two days away good luck to them. Main dealer have screwed us all long enough. Main dealers do offer some advantages with years of mechanical knowledge of there brand and that’s worth something but they sure know how to charge.

A lot of big main dealers down here are happy to pay a few hundred a month to advertise a small ad in agritrader but have not updated thier website since 2014 for a few hundred a month they could pay a man to update the website once a week.

yeah i get that one, i used to advertise in it 12 plus years ago but didnt seem to do any good so stopped bothering.

Now i dont advertise at all really just have a presence on here and acouple other forums plus my facebook page and a couple pages i'm on.

Adds in Mags seem crazy expensive for a very short window.

Farm machinery locator charge a fortune for adverts. Not worth it imo

One reason is the tractor boys are being whipped by the manufacturers ,so the implement manufacturers don't get the reps time . look at Halse of Honiton just doing machinery !

A few tractor manufacturers offering full line of equipment and not allowing other brands to be sold alongside there's.

CNH and AGCO moved to grassland machinery recently.
