How do you get the 80%* GHG emission reduction? What is it based on?

The 80%* GHG emission reduction is achieved when the emissions of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel over the life cycle of the fuel, from raw material production to consumption of the fuel, are compared to similar emissions from fossil jet fuel. The biggest difference between SAF and fossil jet fuel emissions are the raw materials used. Burning of fossil fuels increases the fossil CO2 concentration in the atmosphere which is the main cause of climate change. The burning of fuels produced from renewable raw materials, such as SAF, releases the same amount of carbon that renewable raw materials have absorbed from the atmosphere. Hence, the use of renewable raw materials is considered as carbon circulation, not adding new CO2 to the atmosphere

So are we going to have planes running on charcoal?

Wow! If only there was a similar ‘closed loop‘ type of system in agriculture. If only we could have cows and grass doing something similar. 🤦🏻‍♀️:banghead:

Transport Secretary Mark Harper said: "This government is a determined partner to the aviation industry”

What a shame that the government aren’t a “determined partner” to the agricultural industry. 😳
No, well obviously farmers are responsible for all the global warming while the airline industry is carbon neutral don't you know?

and yet when we argue the same for methane emissions from bovines we are told we arent qualified to make such claims - I even had an argument with AHDB on twitter about it - AHDB telling me I was wrong and that cows ARE resposible for global warming! :X3:

But we can offset other industries emissions and they're going to use our waste as a green fuel, we're not being laughed at at all🤔🙄

People actually believe this sh!t, I wonder if those writing it do too or know that it's rubbish

I know who’s paying their wages but it makes you wonder who they’re working for.

On the rare occasion that someone from AHDB has written on this forum they have had their heads bitten off, is it any wonder when they come out with stuff like that

Was that comment on twitter quite recent?
Didn’t @onesiedale and @holwellcourtfarm have a meeting with them recently about their postings on social media?
They evidently have a lot more to learn as with friends like that, who needs enemies 😡

I believe the penny is finally starting to drop with regard to diet, animal fat, carbs and human health (all be it after 50 years or so), so I believe the same will happen with regard to cattle and global warming, and greenwashing industries taking the media for useful fools. The only problem is, if we have to wait for 50 years for that to happen I will be 109!
