Incalf hiefers on the hill tops
How old are they?will be fair animals once calved in and grown through first lactation!Incalf hiefers on the hill tops View attachment 833059
Yes a nice calf. I was surprised he had so much white as James is very black. He will probably be genomically tested.
we used to have one that did the same, the amount she could chuck out was unbeleivable, trouble was she was a good cow so had to put up with it for a few years, She went eventually as couldnt get her back in calf one year.Other than getting rid, how would you stop cows throwing silage onto their backs? Have one at the moment that is really bad for it, she makes a considerable mess and is wasting quite a lot of the stuff
Also makes scraping up a PITA with a hand scraper.

The fleck crosses are big, probably too big, first 2 have calved both doing over 30 litres. These should be finished calving by mid November and calve in at 24-28 monthsHow old are they?will be fair animals once calved in and grown through first lactation!
Would you post on here or prefer to pm?I use the the animal house stabiliser. Happy to talk to you about it.
All i read there was you have 55 cows for sale. So about 30 1st-3rd lactation 4 quater cows..It's not feeling very autumnal here right now. The grass is all wilting again after lunch, I think it's only the heavy dews that are keeping it green.

PDd all the cows this morning. 10% empty, not brilliant but I shortened the block from a drifting 15/16 weeks this year back to 11 weeks so if you ignore the ineligible cows then empty rate would have been near 5% with zero intervention.
