Any news on John Deere working with Trimble?

I'm sure it's been said on here before and at every Lamma/cereals event we bring it up to JD and whoever is there representing trimble, but does anyone know anything about if JD and Trimble might use the same RTK wavelength/frequence (whatever it is) in the future?

We have a RTK basestation we share with a selection on neighbours, however it's a Trimble one, so it works with basically everyone other than JD (New Holland, fendt, Case, etc etc). The only thing stopping us from going more towards JD (currently we are challenger, fendt, JD and New Holland) is the fact we have to pay for their own rtk signal...

The Trimble Base you have will be specific to Trimble Agriculture and so is encrypted. It will only ever be compatible with Trimble devices. You can use base stations from other manufactures with Trimble systems however.

You can add a second device to the base station, effectively another base, which you can then use with the JD preferably on NTRIP as they seem to work better on that anyway. This would use the same external antenna on the building so a relatively simple solution. However this would be relatively expensive, though probably a lot cheaper than the original install.

Hmm ok the second bit you said sounds interesting, and I assume that works no problem with a standard sf3000/6000 RTK reciever?

You say expensive, what sort of ball park are we talking? (If you know) I know the Trimble setup was around £15k

It depends on how the original install is setup but worst case scenario is probably around £6k. It would make use of existing base antenna so you haven't got that cost.

It would work fine with the sf 3000 or 6000 dome. It needs to be setup for NTRIP for the above example though you could do it with radio as well.

Hmm ok, well that's worth thinking about!

Thanks
