in an ideal world a throaty v8 would be going in, but View attachment 839236is a 300tdi, so one has to pish with the c0ck one has got.
Put a Cummins in. Make a proper tow vehicle of it.

Don't think I've ever worked on a land rover where nuts and bolts come loose without help from oxy acetylene, it's in remarkably good condition!
Had a crazy notion.. I re-use the bolts!

The loader tractor's pretty uncontrollable, so going to lower the chassis away from the body.
What wiring changes do you need to do when you run an alternator instead of a dynamo?
just fit the disco axles steering box etc but it won't be original so will half its valuePlan is to fit a disco 300tdi. So far I've discovered that the turbo fouls on the left hand drive steering box, a few bell housing bolts need drilled and tapped out.
Will the radiator/cooler fit in ok?
Would the swivel balls from the disco fit the axels, and can you fit discs on the rear?
not fitting the steering box, way too much work to do that.just fit the disco axles steering box etc but it won't be original so will half its value

It's not going to be sold, it's for cruising around the highlands in the snow and ice.

It's the owners motor, it died last weekend with dirty fuel, been parked up since. Today's job is to remove the 3 tanks and clean them out.Is that snow blown under the bonnet or just ice from freezing?
Looks like a 300tdi so
Should start easy enough once boosted
