Anyone put a plastic sheet in a block wall grain store?

I have a block walled store dug into hillside so it tracks damp through blocks and wets 2" up wall and on floor for a bit.
Try not to use this shed for any length of time but could do with the other shed.
Has anyone put a sheet on the floor and up the walls?
Or even just the walls and 5ft of floor?
I could ideally do with this shed being the last to be used and there will still be a bit left come harvest. So can't really stand it getting wet like I could if it was only a month.

Failing that anyone want to buy few loads of non assured barley

Do you get any dampness on the floor at edge of sheet? With nothing it can get to 5ft

But I do think floor slopes to wall slightly but grain will act like a sponge and suck moisture across

How big an area are we talking, have you looked at tanking slurry? It is very effective, and easy to apply. I have used it in quite a few different areas. I think it contains silica which flows into the porous surface, then expands when in contact with water, blocking the waters route. Works for both positive and negative pressure.

Floor & walls sheeted here as it’s an old byre. Just keep bucket a few inches up & don’t spin wheels when taking grain out. Shovel the few inches back on pile by hand

We use plastic sheeting against block walls in our temporary (permanent ) store. Works well, but we do get some wicking along the floor and any joints in the plastic. And there will be condensation behind the plastic. It's also a haven for mice and I always seem to catch it somewhere with the telehander.

I had a similar problem and what I did was dig
a trench alongside the wall to just below the footings and put Plygene silage liner against the wall up behind the side cladding and a drain in the bottom. Backfilled with stone and 22 years later still no problem although it is no longer used to store grain.

plastic on walls as quattro says works well to height of grain might get tiny amount of moisture at floor but minimal waste. mice can be an issue but for short term its ok
