but at least the core program with all the info on it is yours ,not leased .I don't think you need to have the annual support, but the software won't get updated as regs change, or to cope with any problems thrown up when your pc does a windows update, etc.
Shearwell is the same, you don't have to have the support.

Backing up regularly ,(which is a good habit anyway) would help keep it safe surely ? and at least is free.
Border works with an Agrident Reader. which we have and like. I don't want too much out in the field with me, I don't rely on a phone much in that respect.
APR 600What model agrident are you using?
APR 600
It doesn't require the annual support payment , it'll still work just won't be updated with any new features or solutions to any glitches. I think annual support Is only £60 for the basic update so not much to worry about.Farm IT by Border for Sheep mainly. One off payment for the program appeals.

Its not a stickreader so less reach obviously . but same capability otherwise as that one (awr 300) and cheaper. awr 300 does need a bit of something added to work with a ble bluetooth weigh scale though )I'm looking at the 300, which is the stick version.
I assume you rate it. Any downsides?
