The oak trees here have taken a battering in the wood several down spent all morning removing limbs and repairing fences around grass paddocks .
 
You (and others) may mock, but at least 3 people have been killed, many have damage to property. It may have been worse without the warnings.
If you've faired well, be thankful.

How many people suffered anxiety attacks etc. as result of the hyped reporting? (Answer we'll never know). How many people didn't die on the roads because they had decided not to travel?

Natural events will always give rise to a change in casualty rates.

The reality was that this was nothing like '87 when 15 million trees were lost in the South east - despite the media's best attempts to make it so. All I want is an accurate forecast (which the Met Office gave) not tabloid journalism.
