Arla cuts April milk price. Thoughts?

Arla has announced its milk price will decrease by 0.42ppl from April 1.

Arla Foods amba board director, Johnnie Russell, said: “We are extremely disappointed to be in a position of having to reduce our milk price to our owners, after seven consecutive increases."

Could always try fattening their calves or buy in some sheep to lamb plenty of money in that and no price drops . I believe beef deadweight has dropped at least 10p kg in the last few weeks can we discuss that too. Sorry lambing sheep at moment and tired.

Raged to say the last, at our area meeting a couple nights ago some chap who didn't have a clue what it's like to of lived through a summer on 19p told us all how well sales are doing and getting extra percentage growth with different retailers and pretty much every farmer afterwards ripped him a new one and told him we need to see that on our bank. 2 days later we've got a cut.

My Arla liquid price for April will be 26ppl ish.

Decreasing to 28.13? Count yourself lucky, most of us over here are still a few pennies less than that!

28.13 is including 13th payment. And for i believe 4.2%fat 3.4%protein.

My February price was 28.63. Happy with that. I'm personally glad the rises have stopped to save the taps being turned on. Keep it at 28ppl and we will all go on sensibly

I am being to think that the corporate staff have become brainwashed by their own endless propaganda on how well they say they are doing. It appears that some of the key decision makers and senior staff have become divorced from reality. I am waiting (doubtlessly in vain) to read that someone has actually taken responsibility for the poor performances, particularly in Germany,

And if anyone in Arla HQ in the UK is reading this; you too need to seriously look at the way in which some aspects our business is run.

Arla need a wake up call and refocusing on delivering best return to its members. It was only a few weeks ago they wanted more milk.
