Been in place 20 years.
How wide are the bays ?They were welded, but cattle rubbing and pushing at feed gave a bit of flex which eventually broke some of the welds so they've been bolted back on.
The gap for the cattle to feed through is 18inches.

Would a 4 or 5” pipe not be better ?
That's why they're bolted in the other way round so they lean on the round not the edge.I always think it looks sharp on their necks,I use lamppost for the top rail.

20ft bays. All bolted. Can flex a bit if the bull decides he's going to lean on it with all his weight in the centre.
