Hemsworth is an organic spring calving farm near Witchampton, North Dorset and after a successful first season milking 280 imported Viking Red heifers, our second calving season is about to begin!
With the new conversion now well established, the growth of the business requires a confident, passionate individual to work closely with the herd manager to continue the development of the new dairy enterprise.
This is a full time permanent role, and would suit someone confident in their abilities in the day to day management of a forage focused system, able to work independently, and ready to take on more responsibility under the guidance of the manager. There is much to learn from senior staff in regards to soil health and ruminant nutrition, and cow welfare and a safe working environment are a priority.
A great package is available for the right candidate including a 2 bedroom cottage in the village nearby, and a good work life balance.
