Good morning all,
I was after some advise regarding offering services for smaller areas with ATV where tractors cant get.
I am based in Cornwall and offering, Rolling, Tine Harrowing and Fertiliser/Grass Broadcasting and wondering what hourly charge I should be charging? I was thinking;
Fertiliser/ grass broadcasting £42 p/hr
Tine Harrowing £38 p/hr
Rolling £35 p/hr

This is with a petrol ATV. Do you think those prices sound fair?
Many thanks

Sounds about right.

Good luck getting your money out of horsey folk.
Good point there @TripleSix

I used to do a lot of the work described in the OP. I insisted that the client was on site when doing the work, ostensibly to show me any problem areas and to discuss treatments etc if spraying. The real reason was it meant I got paid there and then...

Alternatively, money up front...?

Prices sound about right for horse people which is the target audience but as others have said they will tell you where the fields are then say they’re off too work now give me a message when your done and I’ll bacs it over when I finish work… then you’ll never hear from them again … there also annoyingly akward too work for so you’ll need a good temperament

And you get there and the gates locked and horses still in the field.

Take a deposit that covers your costs if I was you because in my experience some horse people live hand to mouth putting their horse before themselves. Basically they’ve never got any money.

Local start up tyre guy does card payment at end of job.
