Auctioneers Refuse To Take Abbatoir Bids?

Some speculation that two auctioneers have refused to take bids for lambs from a certain abbatoir this week.

Not sure if this is entirely correct - others may know more about it - but it appears that it is a protest against low deadweight prices for lambs recently. It may also be good PR for the auctioneers involved.

Just before they're about to start selling and you hear 'that' announcement come over the market tannoy,

"Would the representative of #@%&%@# please go to the market office?"

Always brings a wry smile to my face

not sure debt insurance covers all debt, there would be at least 4 marts, through the country, that would tell you otherwise, same buyer caught them all, in 1 week, before he went bust ! All to do with how he went bust, but insurance wouldn't pay out, I know 1 mart lost £100,000 +, The buyer concerned was a regular, long term buyer, with no previous (I think) problems.

The buyer. He will have known in advance what was happening. It's beyond the pail that he ran up credit in that knowledge.
