Auto reset plough

Ploughing today and hit a big stone and bent auto reset ram thing. Will it be OK of its straightened . Massey plough same as overum. Think pressure must be a bit too high, but can't find any guide of what to set it at.

I would go buy a replacement rod if that’s what’s bent. Change the end cap and piston over. Check the barrel though. Might be heaved out of round.

We've just replaced a pin at the front of the auto reset leg so we had to drop the ram pressure to release the leg. We put a guage across all of them 1st to check the pressures and on overum they ranged from 1650 to 1750psi in the hydraulic ram so we recharged it the same.
You will need an adapter fitting and a guage and a pipe made up.

That's good to know, I have a pipe and guage that came with it. Does it spring easily at that pressure? Thanks

Yeah we're happy with it. We do plenty of contracting so always in the unknown. The front furrow always felt a bit 'softer' and that was the lowest reading of the 5.
Put the guage on the others and see what they are

Il check later, I'm happy with the plough, think the bent bit will straighten again or might work OK if pressure was down, it's bent near the end.

Yes you can set them all individually. We didn't know what they should be so checked them all and put the front furrow one the same. Maybe we should have set it slightly higher perhaps. Pain in the ass to keep adjusting them. Kuhn idea is good and can be set easily enough

Make sure the accumulator isn’t out of gas and it isn’t solid with oil

kuhn is simple ,1 accumulator for the lot

Adapter fitting on here , pipe with a 't' one for the pressure guage and one quick release coupling for the tractor. Turn oil flow right down and flick the spool until your at required pressure. Undo the fitting off the ram 1st to maintain the pressure. Then float the spool and release quick coupling

I'd need to put a tap between the ram and hydraulic fittings, don't know how it was charged before

2nd picture looks like you could do it the 1st picture wont as you need to be able to get the hydraulic pipe off afterwards . How on earth did they manage to recharge the pressure before
Different plough to us by looks possibly aswell . Not sure on yours but the accumulators are sealed on ours with no test ports so can't even check the pressure

Thats how my nh is which is same as a kongskilde, same owners as overum

Earlier overums had one big accumulator they then went to one per leg I think when they changed to Kongskilde dont know what Holland went with
accumulator should be filled with nitrogen?? I think

Can't understand how it was charged last time unless they knocked fitting off with a hammer
