Is baling forage rape an option. We have a field of it with a footpath going through, which might cause a problem. Sown late autumn 23. Has anyone experience with, how might do i need to wilt it? Tedding it? Plain mower or conditioner? Planning on doing it end of may start of july then back into grass.

I did it 20 years ago, contractor done it with a mower with skids lifted up 4-6 inches. Left to wilt a day I think then round bale. Extra net needed and can't spike them as they for to bits. Do not stack them more than one high. The cows loved it. What I remember.

Cut it and bale it as it drops in rows a few days later ,you cant ted or row it up or it will be full of soil , dont over condition it either or you will have rows of mush , its wet stuff but its supprisung how nice it is after its fermented
