Really ? You think the CAP has been good for UK agriculture ? Are you serious ?
I think the 50% of small family farms lost since 1972 might disagree.
Maybe losing 50% of small family farms is a 'good' result when compared to other parts of the economy. Every other sector has had far greater consolidation into massive conglomerates than agriculture has. Its why we buy from a handful of companies and sell to a handful of companies. You cannot look at farming in isolation to what has happened to the rest of the economy. Personally I'd say farming is more like it was 50 years ago than just about any other business sector. And that is undoubtedly down to CAP subsidies. Now whether thats a good thing or not is another argument.....
