Imazamox has the same mode of action as SUs- ALS inhibition, IE tiny amounts of active give disproportionate effects on some species of plants. Applied to a newly emerged barley crop, and with deter (known for it's hot nature) and crystal for good measure, it is no surprise the crop suffered.
