I fully expect this to be another programme with the usual BBC bias against meat and farming. They're very clever with how they constantly drip feed the public.Like all hidden agendas they will make it appear not to be the case.I'm just amazed the regulators never take them to task, probably because they have the same politics.

Its a bad job but billions have eaten beef and a tiny tiny unlucky few caught bse. We used to chew the dairy cake containing meat and bone meal ! Its seems more of a government bashing program than a farmer one. Sheep with scrapie looked awful. Feeding school children the cheapist sh#te they could buy was a disgrace.

I don't know why I liked that. But what you say is true. I'm finding the programme distressing with the effects on animals & humans.

I think to call it sh!t & I'm turning it off is not helpful.

What happened was terrible, even if no one was actually to blame.

Programme brought back lots of memories that I've blocked out of my memory. The polticans of the time & the anguish of selling cattle for less than they cost to be produced.

Thank goodness the huge epedemic did not occur. Little comfort for the small number who lost family or friends.

@Guy Smith Why oh Why was this programme ever allowed to be aired. Was there no reaction in trying to stop this programme from the NFU. This is old history but the beef industry is on its knees and it has just been kicked in the g##ley's. We can not feed this stuff and a large number of herds are trying to achieve higher and higher status in health schemes. A lot of herds cannot do anything else with the grass that is grazed as it is on land you can not do anything else with!!

Is banning programmes a good idea in the long run. We need scientists to research things that if we are honest we don't understand. Hopefully of course proving that beef is safe.
