Radio 4 BBC flagship news prog. Ran a piece about farmers polluting rivers 300 times this year.
Discussion with Farmers National Union??
A more anti farmer weighted interview you’d have a job to find. . . .
Apparently the ‘World at One’ radio 4 1- 1.45 today is running a more in depth report.
So try and listen at lunchtime guys and we’ll maybe get ourselves forewarned of what’s coming down the anti farming track.

There were 300 pollution events. I'd be interested in what the "major incidents" were and what the non major incidents were.

No pollution is good but it could be the 280 non major incidents were some bad management issue that could be corrected.

The 20 major incidents may have a different flavour.

We definitely know the water boards are polluting with human sewage. Wilfully

The flipside is how much did Kate Hoare have to pay to have a covered slurry pit and methane extraction? Would it have been grant aided or paid from the business of milking cows? If the former is this available to all farmers?

edit - the council and a private company paid for it (not a criticism of the farmer doing it but it does add a different flavour to it)

Isn't that more of a environmental agency problem than a farmers problem? I know in Scotland SEPA wouldn't mess about coming down on you like a ton of bricks if they get the chance...
So why make a radio program about it just go to the environmental agency pointed out the 300 cases and let them sort it out. That is there job isn't it?
But nah nah rather than solve the issue let's make a media spectacle out of it.

Doesn't the BBC necessarily overdramatise these issues with contrasting proponents - usually the establishment's position of being right and proper against the poorly briefed, hopeless fallguy - to boost their viewing/listening figures?

A dreadful piece of journalism, pushing an agenda. The following item about so called antisemitism was even worse. The truth was being manipulated to create a story, is the BBCs moto not "speaking truth to nations"??? 🤔

In the video on the news, she's milking in an abreast parlour, so doesn't look like there's been too much investment- they don't show the slurry store- could be a multi million pound digester...

You may need the BBC to point out your problems to you, but I have yet to find them to be helpful for either point out my problems or for solving any them.
Quite the contrary in fact, so I don't fund their corrupt indoctrination

OK I admit I wasn't 100% clear by using the words your problems, I was not referring to you personally but in General terms. If you see something that is wrong wherever or whatever that may be ignoring it will not correct the wrong doing. But I think you knew what I meant anyway.

Thought she'd got a nice set up. Cows looked well.
Yeah cow's looked well, and is undoubtedly doing a very nice job of it, just that I wouldn't have thought there were many abreast parlours fitted in the last 30 years?
Stock looked a credit, and clearly doing a good job of it, before Arla were happy to put their names forward.
