It can stink, but is at its most deadly when you cannot smell it.Pretty sure gypsum is illegal as bedding. Stinks to high heaven.
Can i have some advice please people. We have 300 cows and looking at changing bedding for the coming winter. What are other people using and what are your experiences. Currently on sawdust from local supplier at the moment but last few month more and more cases of mastitis have cropped up. Not ruling sawdust out all together but maybe a higher grade or try paper?. Thanks in advance.
No, it's for bedding I believeIt can stink, but is at its most deadly when you cannot smell it.
Interestingly I was looking at bedding machines on line today and Ag were advertising supply of gypsum, lets hope it was for ground application.
Any suppliers on the mainland ?Try peat moss i changed couple of years back from sawdust .Find it excellent.
Would that b England, wouldnt know I get artic loads from Harte peat in Monaghan.Any suppliers on the mainland ?
that's a new one on meAnyone used Platts Bovibed?
i dont like what i have seen on green bedding. some local farm to us went on it but came off within the year.
We are in our 5th or 6th winter now with the green bedding. Wouldn't go back to anything else. Only downside is the outrageous costs of spares. If you would like to discus green bedding, and come and see some long term sites give me a shout. The thing that has to be taken on board with GBedding is that it is a complete management system, it’s not just a machine that makes bedding.
