I have cows ready ,phoned on Monday being lifted next Monday. That is the quickest I have ever got them in so I would think that any word of a glut is nonsense.
No glut of cows no and no long term glut of cattle but there is very short term over-supply of prime cattle . Why else would there be cattle being put off for a week or two.

Because apparently they aren’t selling the beef...which has been explained several times on here...there is definitely no glut of cattle...this is from the horses mouth
we waited 6 weeks to get good cows into pickstocks feb/march time went the auction in the end , have been waiting 3 + weeks to get cattle into woodheads even though pre booked before april ,I think there is a problem either glut or lack of sales whatever , I did wonder if they had stockpiled meat(possibly imported ) in store for Brexit in anticipation of massive price rises / supply issues .

I presume this was the store guth was on about.
Mrs PBH was in this morning at 10.30 and wanted joints. The guy at the counter was busy and 1 woman waited a while then walked off. When asked he said they hadn't got that day's delivery out yet as short staffed, though management didn't think so. He did say stock tends to get run down on a sunday.
(Sorry, poor quality pics)

Abp Ellesmere is much busier than I've ever seen it just now. There were 2 wagons full just unloaded before I got there and there were 4 in the queue behind me as well as a few o the we pickups and trailers about the place. Never usually that much of a queue when I've been before.
Make of that what you will.

That's a bit of a bu#ger:facepalm:
It's a wonder half of 'em aren't in lamb if they've been running with a load of tups.

I'd be having a word with whoever you bought 'em off for a bit of compensation:whistle:
We do have a May lambing bunch!! Made for interesting shearing, I’m hoping the local market put it right.
Least with eid tags and a invoice that says ewe lambs we have some back up!! Tbh before people say I should of noticed the sack they’d had a band on just balls tucked up

Interesting comments on the McCartneys website today from chairman clive roads about the state of the livestock industry and its challenges, perhaps somebody more tech savvy than me could post it.
