Dad reckoned he'd never seen ewes as dear as they were in Melton today. Plenty over £200.

Agree, l had afew mules at 150 odd and some texels at 190, that's a record for me for sure of to look for some more that not rearing a lmb, wish they all were yeld. Not sure what replacements will be in September but l, ll worry about that then.

Not all sheep in NZ are extensively grazed and lambed unshepherded. This may be true for high country flocks, but there are plenty of lower sheep properties where they seen daily. Speak to @Global ovine who attended the birth site of every one of his 3000 recorded lambs.

Are there still hill flocks in the UK which lamb unshepherded on the heather?

As for my practices, my sheep are seen daily. They receive prompt and appropriate treatment, be that drugs or euthanasia. I also ensure pain relief is give to all cases of lameness and assisted lambings. I was speaking to a UK farmer the other day and outlined my practices. He asked me what NSAIDs were.

Mate of mine doesn't see much of his sheep at lambing time.he goes shooting foxes instead.says they take more lambs than has problems with sheep lambing.

Just had tb reactors for 1st time in 17 years which is a right f'up. Got 3 cows that were going to go to Raglan but now need to go direct, where's the best place to send them within reasonable distance of South Wales?

Cows are blue x dairy, 10/11 year old. Not fat but decent flesh.

Shoot one of the latter and hang it on the fence and you’ll not be bothered again over lambing.

You might not be there to do the lambing, but even so….

While I get more than my fair share of grief from my many hundred neighbours whom overlook one particular field I did have a really nice girl and probably her boyfriend go to the trouble of tracking me down to tell me I had a ewe needing assistance in a ditch (alive) they were desperate to help not all people are ignorant
