Not disagreeing as i was not there but spoke to a mate of mine....he bought around 30 cattle all conti xs and he thought they were a lot less than last week...his last weeks cattle were off the scale...in more ways than one

They started off cheaper than last week by £40/50 head but halfway or so thru the sale they suddenly jumped £50/70 head.

Every pen in the market was full!

Massive entry of store cattle (950 ish head ) massive entry of stirks ( 450/ 500 head ) every sheep pen full, over 500 calves penned.

Trade for stirks really was off the clock, anything half suckler bred and a steer would easily be £900 +, calve trade was just crazy and as for store cattle, well... Trade just got dearer and dearer as the sale went on and many people left with half empty trucks such was the trade! most fat cattle would be FAR dearer than on the hook, super entry of BELGIAN ( @Henarar[emoji23]) Blue cattle for Yarcombe young farmers with the heaviest steer at a massive 885 kilos smashing the £1450 mark, the ring was packed from 10 am when selling started and there was still only standing room when the last beast was sold at 2-30 pm..
Glad our buyer didn't go then.

Didn't someone on here say a page or so ago that you get knocked 5pk over 380 kilos?? ( thou they are claiming they are paying you a bonus for under 380 kilo cattle which is a utter nonsense )
On the text it's says Base price 3.51 and 5p plus for 280-380kg but I expect you are right it has been worded to sound better than is.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
