We are this year short of forage to fatten the lambs and have started with oats in 3 in 1 feeder, what concentrate do people find give best growth rates when mixed with oats for lambs at grass? Ty

If you want to be able to restrict the intakes reasonably well, you'll want as little concentrate as possible in the mix, so ideally a decent protein pellet.

If you speak to Rob at advantage feeders, he'll tell you about a pellet that is very small and holds its shape well...... I've used and it worked well, but can't for the life of me remember the company name 🤪

Generally just feed oats at grass, get the lambs worked up to a fair bit seems to work on the tail enders

Was it JG Animal Health? I know they were making a small concentrate pellet specifically for that purpose.

I’ve never used it so no experience of it.

Thanks everyone Rob at advantage has pointed me in the right direction, with 20% inclusion of a 38% balancer pencil will see how it goes, not cheap, my 16% ration works out at £235/t a useful saving over buying all 16% concentrate.

Whichever protein pellet you buy, don't get too much until you've decided if it is palatable. Lambs often leave the protein pellets in coarse lamb mixes.
