Best make of mig welder

My lady got a old BOC tradesmig 200
It runs on a 32amp 240 volt single phase supply and it used every day.
I challenge anyone to find anything better for the £500 she paid for it.

I have been looking at buying an Oxford S-Mig 330. They seem to get good reviews on this page and elsewhere as a simple solid mid-range machine. I have been comparing it to the Tecarc 321 and it seems the separate wire feed unit and controls on the Tecarc are much nicer than on the oxford. If the machines were identical inside I think I would go for the Tecarc but I would be worried that its the lesser model. For example some people say the Tecarc doesn't have capacitors (I'm 1ph). Any opinions on this?

Best thing is to go to a serious weld centre and ask to try them, Telford group ( welding superstore ) lets you try what you want before you buy.

Bought a 250 amp lorch last year. Very good welder and easy setup. Went with option of twin rota on wire. Maybe not the cheapest at 1600 Inc vat but seems reliable

A friend who used to work at Michelin gave her a load of them, over the years they are getting thinner and thinner but she loves the fit and movement they give.
That makes sense, it looks a bit Breton fisherman's top.
Wish I could find some similar to work in.

bought a oxford 300A single phase , new in 2020 as an upgrade to my R-tech 250A . After around 2 months the motor that feeds the mig wire coil out out stopped first , the dealer told me they had bought from a different supplier and there was an issue , they sent me out a new motor and away itvwent again , shortly after the transformer burnt out and after 6 months without a welder they eventually told me that it wasn't covered by warranty, bought a Jasic 270 and could not fault it , its definitely a better more capable welder than the Oxford and iv recently just bought one of there plasma , my uncle bought a identical welder to mine , unfortunately his developed a problem too however it was collected the same day as he reported it and sent to Manchester to be repaired , back on farm at the Friday of the same week , Wouldn't have another oxford even if it was free

I’ve a 410 single phase welder, hugely capable welder, good money but they changed laws and transformer welders are outlawed, issue is these inverter machines I don’t feel are capable of lasting

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
