Best value tractor tyres?

Fitting tractor tyres is a horrible horrible horrible job, I draw the line at ride on mower tyres - I would rather pay a bit extra to get £3-£4K of tractor tyres fitted without damaging the beed and struggling like an idiot - far far easier things to save money on than fecking around with a 7’ high rubber ring that weighs a half ton :)

I'd rather change tractor tyres than ride on mower ones.

I changed a Honda Ride on Mower tyre and tube yesterday in 5 minutes, that included taking the rim off without using a jack, no wheel nuts or spanner’s just a big circlip - no jack needed I just lifted it by hand onto an axle stand.

No way on earth could I have changed a 38” or 42” tyre so easily. Each to their own - if you enjoy it fair play to you - but no way on earth am I fecking around with a massive tyre and the risk of damaging it for the extra cost of £15 to £20 to get it fitted

BKT here and seem to be wearing very well and grip well too. My tire fitter rates them too
I have had BKTs on mine for 4 years now, and you can hardly see any wear on them, they would be high on my list again if I were to get some more. (I suspect the current ones will outlive the tractor)

I guess @Sid means use your local guys as they wont be there if every one buys online
Bit like the local shop , petrol station or Post office. All the commuters save money and buy in town or city when near work or bank online but when they are snowed in or the like TSB it all goes tits up the all moan like feck there are no local branches shops or petrol

maybe, or maybe they will have to learn how to compete in the market without geography ............ bit like farmers do

alternatively you an continue to knowingly pay more for inputs supporting local people in the vain hope that they will support you and pay you more for your wheat, beer etc ......... good luck !

The thing is though

Does the internet fit them
Does it repair a tyre at 3am
........

it doesn't

and who cares ?

someone will if you pay them

is the way of the world, no one does any favours or works for free (except farmers it seems !)

eat or be eaten !
But who is going to come out to you when there's no tyres services for 300 miles because interweb has eaten them

You have to look after others to be looked after too
It kind of works both ways

the world just doesn't work like that but its a quaint old fashioned thought !

there will always be someone who see the chance fill a gap if exists and they can see a profit

but if it makes you feel warm inside keep knowingly paying more in the hope you get that service when no-one else can
