Block feeding younstock

Younstock farm 2 miles away curently feeding 3rd or 4th cut sp silage via tub mixer each day sheds are akward to get into with tub mixer taking alot of time up on weekends to get fed and finished we top dress cake im woundering could i try droping sheargrab cuts direct to them and put enough in to last the weekend ie feeding friday night and again monday morning pushing up would still happen 2x a day my worry is feed going off and lower growth rates

Why not put more out with the feed wagon? All youngstock here are fed for either 2 or 3 days with meal mixed in. Cattle a lot more content as rarely run out of feed. Don’t need to push up until 2nd day after feeding. Depends on forage quality but never had too much of a problem with heating. Makes weekends (with no help) much easier. Even the dairy cows are fed for one and half days over Friday, Saturday and Sunday so that two feeds do instead of three never seen a change in milk

Do you have much wastage ?

I put bales in an away shed to last 4 of 5 days so i dont have to take a tractor there all the time. It's the same as putting blocks of silage in I would think 🤷 feed doesn't really go off in that time if it does start to heat I just spread the bale out a bit so it cools.
