I don't rubbish it - I lament your ways, and wish you'd not picked the route you have, but I and others have offered advice on how you could perhaps better achieve your aim of a ballot without resorting to such means. Again, I hope you get one, and I have no opinion on the best outcome for your sector, but would be disappointed if it had a negative effect on red meat.

I am not fully up to speed with red meat sector only to say we give our waste from the grading lines to the local cattle men ,unless they are not being truthful they say if I charged them the job would be not worth doing,what good is the ahdb to this sector.

Have you read the April review response? There’s nothing really in the press advert that wasn’t in the response. Sure, waves are being made by the rebels, but they’re not exactly moving quickly.

There is no time limit for them to call a ballot even when we hand the names over,we have been in regular contact with them and told them we need clarification on who is running this ballot and who is overseeing it,all the answer we get is that they haven't made a decision yet ,about par for the course for them time doesn't matter ,we are still waiting for the call back they promised my daughter 18 months ago.

I can't see why you have any right to dictate the administration of the ballot, I'm afraid - and certainly not when approaching them as you have done. I really don't see the AHDB cheating on the ballot though - they will report the results to DEFRA exacty as they come in - but do see that DEFRA may not go with the majority (as is their legal right). Right now though, they have an excuse to not hold the ballot, because they haven't been asked for one. Once you get the request in, they will start to work on the process - until they have that, why should they waste the levy payers money planning for something that might never happen?

I agree with your sentiment, the point is what are you going to do to make sure they play fair? Its no good coming on here moaning about how awful the AHDB are and how they're bound to screw you over, what is your strategy to counter that behaviour? Personally I'd want them to be as obviously biased as possible, because that makes taking them to court a far easier battle.

IMO you aren't going to win this battle by PR and a naïve faith in 'democracy', you're going to need the backing of some hefty legal muscle and the courts to make it happen.

Well he's got nothing to work with yet, because you've not even managed to get your 70 odd ballot letters in have you? This thread started nearly 4 months ago, and still no ballot letters. The AHDB aren't going to discuss the mechanics of a completely hypothetical ballot with your lawyer, why should they, there may never be one at the rate you're going. You need to get the ball rolling, then you can start asking questions and demanding answers.
