There is but only a very small percentage of the travelling community. Most get away with crime. Here's definitely travellers in jails. Someone must put them there.

I used to know a woman who worked for the Cps.Here's definitely travellers in jails. Someone must put them there.
Also getting people to press charges is hard for the fear of repercussions. Here's definitely travellers in jails. Someone must put them there.
That deserves a OBE at the very leastHow long a sentence would you get if you caught said thief, got his arm in a vice and lopped a finger off with the 9" grinder?
Completely agree with you. But there is still every week tractors, cars getting stolen with the keys left in them. The harder we make it for thieves the more chance we have of catching them.I walk around the farm with a big bunch of keys (like a gaoler). Keys for tractors, bikes, sheds, trucks, car and house. The gate is alarmed I have cctv and I still get thefts. The police offer to give me advice on security (and offer me counselling FFS). All I want is to live in peace, minding my own business without being visited by parasites. The older I get the less sympathy I have with them - though I never had much to start with.
The current system has been tried and has failed. It is time to blame the thieves and not the honest man, who should be able to leave things lying around without fear of them being stolen

I suppose I could use the 4 inch with the flappy disc in?Do light fingers need a 9" grinder?
We have a very poor system over here where the law seems to be on the side of the perpetrator.
If you were getting trouble from bad people here and you made it known you have a shotgun and would use it to defend your property or family chances are the police will come and remove your gun. Getting it back will be extremely difficult.
Yes, but I bet in percentage terms there will be more thieving travellers than thieving farmers or corrupt coppers.I just think we shouldn't stereotype.
Are there bent coppers about. Aye, a quick Google will show that. Are all coppers bent or refuse to investigste crime? no, because for every copper sacked for misconduct/neglect of duty there's a copper who stood up, did the right thing and reported them.
Are there travellers who commit crime?yes. But not all travellers are criminals. There's white middle class farmers stealing other folks sheep. Doesn't mean everyone is at it.

The only sentence you"d get from me would be "Why TF did you not cut all his fingers off"How long a sentence would you get if you caught said thief, got his arm in a vice and lopped a finger off with the 9" grinder?
It's not that I think all farmers are scrupiously honest, I'm sure our industry has its fair share of scallywags as do all other professions.................I don't think I'll comment further on the travelling community.I wouldn't like to bet much on that actually. Have you read my initial post above?
That story needs to get into the papers. Wrecking the rugby players career is a far worse sentence for him than any court would dish out...The word is that the thief told the farmer that his rear light was faulty and as he was bent down repairing it, the thief's traveller pals kicked the sh!t out of him, but although they made away with the trailer, farmer managed to block the rugby player's exit. The police were called and when they arrived, instead of arresting the thieving git, the policewoman hugged him.
The story now is that they haven't stolen it and the trailer can be collected any time from the traveller's site. Who is going to do that I wonder? Not the police for sure.
Someone has to charge and convict him. Charge him at least, so that his name becomes common knowledge and a solid story. That story needs to get into the papers. Wrecking the rugby players career is a far worse sentence for him than any court would dish out...
