Boris is new foreign secretary

Don't get me wrong I can see why Theresa had to find him a role to keep him from being dangerous, I just don't think he's right for this role.

The US are laughing at him and we need to really build bridges that way after Brexit. He can hardly go to Liverpool these days and he won't get so well in to the White House having slated Obama, Trump and Hilary Clinton.

I don't think he believes in anything or anyone except himself. Sorry but that's how I feel. A real man would have taken Gove apart in the hustings. Even if he still lost to May, he could be settling scores against Gove.

I don't believe he was a convincing latter day convert Brexiter and we know he had no plans when Leave won.
The US might be laughing at Boris Johnsons appointment by TM, but they also have to remember the rest of the world is still laughing at the Trump-Clinton debarcle!!!:facepalm:(n)

FFS - How many times does this have to be pointed out to you?
How do you expect the Mayor of London to have made plans to take the whole of UK out of the EU???
Now that they have a mandate from us, it is the job of the GOVERNMENT to plan our withdrawal.

No need to swear

I expect quite a lot from the man who very belatedly became a Brexit convert, who was persuaded by others to lead the official Leave campaign and who would have taken advice from many pro Brexit quarters. If you had not become convinced and didn't take strong advisors perhaps like Ruth Lee along with you why would you have led from the front and in front of people like Nigel Farage. A jolly jape?

No need either to write anything in capitals either.

Now there has been a referendum vote, decision made and a Government is now formed that will incorporate the Leave seniors who will be responsible for expediting the People's mandate - even if, as Ken Clarke rightly pointed out - no two Brexit advocates can come up with the same description as to what Brexit should mean.

I won't be reading anything from John Redwood thanks.

Interestingly one of the shortest threads on the Brexit topics in TFF is the AHDB briefing document outlining the possible Brexit UK future trading models.

Well the Brexiters are locked in to collective Cabinet and we'll see how much they actually achieve in the coming 2 years

I take it you've taken account of Mr Johnson's previous crass remarks now he is our Diplomat in Chief on the World stage?

He hasn't got that far. He ran away from the challenge of high office. He is humorous, charismatic but also a serious operator like Mandelson. That doesn't make him a serious top Ambassador for the UK like John Kerry, Secretary of State and he will be facing many of those he has insulted
Hes good at his job, he has been very successful at politics and will continue to be so, anyone who discounts Boris is a fool ! you think your so clever jp you go a get his job and see how you get on.

Wrong man representing me abroad

Doris is a buffoon and he hasn't really done grownup politics yet. The real key to any success will be how good his "hommes de l'ombre" are.;)

He was a good mayor ! time will tell, i think Mrs May has made a great cabinet im so pleased to see Osborne gone i had no faith in him whats so ever.

They do sound more like they understand the needs and requirements of normal people and businesses compared to the Notting hill set, but only time will tell.

Typical - don't look at anyone else's views unless they upset your own pre-conceived ideas eh?
In order to form a valid opinion on issues, its really necessary to look at all sides of the argument before forming a view, otherwise your opinions tend to come across as bigotry. (c.f. Jeremy Corbyn)

No need to swear? But it's quite alright to post offensive material eh? What a piece of work...

I hope they do understand better aswell, but history tells us that some of the most extreme right wing and devisive tory MPs are the grammer school types rather than the eton/public school ones.

I read and listen to quite a few alternative views, I tend to avoid IDS, Liam Fox and the Daily Mail.

The other material has been covered endlessly although I presume you do recognise I neither wrote not condoned that screenshot - unlike you who chose to swear

Adadadadcha.. well! adada well:D(y) May got rid of morgan and gove and given boris foreign secretary job(y)

Considering Boris; I'm genuinely confused. On the one hand, I listen to the more learned who tell me that he's a highly intelligent and sharp witted man, and then I listen to him. Is he a highly intelligent idiot, or have I missed something?
Mind you, there is a precedent; Do we remember that frightful Beckett woman who, single handedly it seems, was responsible for the EU levying £MILLIONS as penalties and fines for her shambolic handling of the RPA, and then guess what, she was sidelined off to the FO? Were she a ewe, she'd have been culled out years ago, of no use and ugly.
I'll admit, I sometimes wonder what the thought processes are of those who appoint Ministers.
