Brewers Waste Free to Take Away Lancashire

We are a micro brewery operating in Blackpool, Lancashire.

We produce between 200 to 400kg of malt per week as a by-product of the brewing process.

It is free to take away for anyone who wants it.

It consists of grains that we have added hot water to in order to extract the sugars. What is left over is a wet malt which can be used as a supplementary animal feed (preferably for ruminants) or can go into compost.

No hops, yeast or alcohol. These are all added/produced separately at a later stage of the brewing process.

Currently our used malt is going to landfill but we would like to find a way to recycle it if we can.

If you are interested or would like more information, please feel free to contact me.

Our location is 139 Church Street, Blackpool, Lancashire.

im too far but I take these, they are good in moderation and as a forage extender in general.

If you cant find anyone local (can be hard in a more arable area with access to storable feeds) You can place thme in IBC's and seal them. As you know the grains rot and heat up quickly so have to be used within 2-5 days depending on the weather (Hence few takers sometimes).

If you can keep the air off them and squease the liquid out, you can store and get rid alot easier (also if it was less wet and can be stored people will pay)
