Yes I mixed my own last year for an experiment to kill weeds in beet.

I bought a ton of sea salt from a company I found via this forum, I can't remember the name but can find out. I filled the sprayer and then just bucketed in the salt to the desired ratio.

A side note it didn't kill fathen but it did do a job on amaranth, nettle and a few others but when I lifted that field they were a good 1% more sugar which ties In with anicdotal evidence of carrots treated with salt being sweeter🤷

Did you add non ionic wetter? As that was included in the original dendritic salt mixture from 1980s.

No, although I do have some salt in stock still so could do a tramline or two and get the factory to test some test digs.🤔

From Mike May. Was the Beet herbicide man at Morley.

Treatment is usually 1100 litres/ha of saturated salt solution plus 0.1% non-ionic wetter. Most modern farms are not set up to spray at such high volumes, but it will work equally well when applied as two passes of 550litres/ha.

To obtain a saturated solution, 310kg of salt should be dissolved in each 1100litres of spray water. However salt is hard to mix and this concentration can be difficult to achieve in the farmyard.
