The figures are based on the first three lactations I think. In my experience a slow starting heifer usually makes a long lasting cow.
His dam does about 7500 litres at good quality on my system and calves regularly which is exactly what I want.

If I didn't have the same families in my herd I would choose Joseph out of all the Chad sons. It's all about solids these days especially in our part of the world

Wouldn't be afraid to use him again he held well for us.

Ai tech has of today Goonhilly Tonto in the flask along with Patrol. Haven't had much luck with cows holding to Patrol, so it looks as if I request it will be a choice between a NR/Goonhilly Tonto.

I really like Tonto's dam. A really strong cow. He's a good outcross too, being the son of Piet adema 186.

Didn’t I read some where that @Manney used a lot of patrol?

Correct.

Used patrol on on all the cows for the last 3 years. So my in calf heifers are from patrol (due to chad in feb), my yearling hefs are from patrol and the cows are in calf now to patrol (calving feb). Nothing like putting your eggs in one basket ha ha. Not had any conception issues. Only severed (ai'd) for 4 weeks and we achieved a 79% 6 week incalf so they must of held ok.

We have just used a few (10) patrol and not many seemed to have come over, but haven't PD'd! Fingers crossed as our friesan calves have all but one been bulls this year I think! Best not get too excited as 10 Chad straws gave two calves which were both bulls. But hard to show results in such small numbers!
Manney do you have any photos of your Patrol heifers?

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
