Need trailers to transport potatoes and cereals but ideally something that only weighs 4.5t empty which is a big ask I know but if you don’t ask you don’t get. Have a 13t Norton trailer that was new in 1993 and although only lightly built is still in use. So if you are only using the trailer for carrying crops and not rubble and soil do they need to be built like a tank and is the extra strength unnecessary?

Bailey 15t here weighs 4.9t empty with 445/65/22.5 commercial tyres and rollover sheet so not too far from your weight budget. Not sure what their root crop trailers weigh which I presume are longer with lower sides.

I look at my newest Western and see there are a lot of 'extras' that we will never use that add a lot of weight. Rollover sheet, 2 towing eyes from replacement drawbar rings, rear drawbar etc.
