Calf shed lighting

New calf shed with auto feeders nearing completion. I think I read somewhere have good lighting with 6 ish hours of darkness. Also a small light on all night over the feed station. Anyone shed any light on this for us and recommend light levels over feeder. Thanks

That's for milk production
Calves don't need lights, only you do.
Let them sleep so they can convert all that expensive powder in to growth

As @Bald Rick says. But a small light above the feed station on a daylight sensor is a must.

Thanks. I’m pretty sure I’d heard this somewhere. Think I’ll put rest of lights on timer so they don’t bawl or get Agitated at check back

I just have low level LED light above my feed stations at night. Helps the new calves to find there way to the teats.
