Changing our parlour, lots of bit might be useful for other parlours.

Am changing our parlour and having started from scratch a few years ago i know how expensive it is to get a parlour together, most of what we are removing was in full use until we dryed the cows off three weeks ago.

We will have
16 good solid parlour feeder maingers with stainless troughs

16 Dairy master feeder about 6 years old, will need a new control box, all plastic and stainless.

8 ACRs and controls

Stainless milk pipes and wash stands.

Ooen to offers, would like it to be reused than scrap

Be worth more than for scrap, lots of people out there looking for bits.

How old was the parlour and what are you having in it's place?
Mix of age, i know the feeding system is worth a bit not old and not done much work.

Had several messages about bits, would like to make enough to buy a good cake bin but not in game of expecting to make a fortune.

I was always taught do the opposite to your neighbors to succeed so now i have massive parlour around me im going back to milking stall!😝🤓
I would normally agree with you but milking cows as quickly as possible is always the best option, have you milked in the 20/40 before you dismantled it?

I would normal totally agree, and yes iv milked in it for three years. I cant see us milking over 145/155 cows as organic, block calving means i have 8/9 weeks of lots of fresh cows coming in, which i find a 2o/4o to big for 1 man, i have 8 weeks of AI where im picking cows everyday so i find that slows down milking considerably, i just think a 12/24 will suit us better, and a lot less running cost also mean we will have a collecting yard rather than of cubicles into parlour which is nightmare for heifers.

Iv milked in 24/48 on my own befor but you have to have cow flow right, big collection yard good exit, im trying to make best of what we have got.

Surely that’s only for 6 weeks of the year your busy you don’t have to use the back 8 clusters if your busy?

our problem isn't getting fat friesians into the parlour, its getting them out, buggers wont move. And ours are fat, even the vet remarked on condition ! But, with the drought, they seem to be putting in to fat, rather than milk !!!! Though they are not milking badly, fat is creeping towards 5%. Pd, and TB read tomorrow.

We have a similar problem. Can’t get them out of the parlour. Need minimum of two people. Just stand there and won’t walk out unless the man at the back of the parlour keeps them beat and the man at the front keeps the exit door clear. If I was to build a new parlour, it would be a rapid exit. Nothing else.

Any chance there is a drain fitting and pipe saddle and sssociated seal for sale, which would have been installed under the big milk transfer jar at the front of the milking pit for sale
