You’d be surprised. Most distributors are constantly skating on thin ice
don‘t believe a word, most of them have accounts that are available

I would say the manufacturers are and the bosses of the distribs are. Doubt the companies are making much. One or two have nearly had the plug pulled a few times in the pastUk Ag chem market is worth 990 million a year and is basically run by 5 big distributors who pretty much tell the manufacturers what they are prepared to pay
if they are not making serious money out of a gift of a situation like that then they need to rethink their management ................. or maybe start selling online !

Wouldnt it be true that most spring/summer chemicals are already in the Uk, so no need for price rises to be acceptable ?you would think so wouldn’t you ......... but it’s distribution that holds all the power in the Uk market
it’s a very messed up sector imo that is absolutely overdue for fundamental change desperately confused by the coupling of advice with supply
some individual distributors hold 60% plus of the market due to this coupling of advice to supply and even giants R&D manufacturers can’t ignore power like that, I’ve lost count of the times I have been told this directly from manufacturers
Distribution sets price and control competition, even the biggest of buying groups sit below this huge power
Paid £8/bag for Epso top a few weeks ago. Some on another thread were quoting a lot lower, unless I've got my maths wrong!Been quoted £7.50 for 25kg bag for Epsotop bittersaltz and £18 for Yara Krista SOP. Are these in line?

‘Normal’ SoP was around the £500/t Mark last year, Yara’s fancy grade works out at £720/t which isn’t bad, for Yara. It is in 25kg bags I assume?!Been quoted £7.50 for 25kg bag for Epsotop bittersaltz and £18 for Yara Krista SOP. Are these in line?
