Unless you have the tickets to operate one bull and void
"the tickets" are a way of demonstrating you know what your doing. It does not mean you MUST attend a course, thats just the easy way of demonstrating it - at least this is the same for most things, it could be different for MEWPs.

im suggesting you dont need "a ticket" you need to demonstrate competence.
They are very different.
ie, if you have been using one for a while, and can demonstrate you know what you roing, you dont need "a ticket"

just like a tractor. Apart from building sites where they make you do a course to get a ticket (because it removes all responsability from them to you) nobody undergoes a formal training course to drive a tractor (do they)?

i think the youngsters do a tractor course at college but,no I don't think it is a requirement.

I'm not trying to be an arse here, but with something like a cherry picker how would you demonstrate competence to an insurance company? I don't think 'done it for years' will cut it much the same as young apprentices that claim to have driven and done all sorts of stuff they've seen in YouTube.

Hi, anyone here able to offer advice on cherry picker insurance? And how much it could be ?
Jcb do short term plant insurance. Sub 1 month, can get quote online instantly.

14t hired excavator is £270 ish for a month for ballpark. Own insurance company needed more for a letter confirming insurance for the hire company.

Not sure what your saying I’m saying that unless you can prove competence in using plant and specialist machinery you could be waste of money paying for insurance as I can’t see them paying out any claim as a result of a accident

One of my Landlords has a cherry picker that he would lend me for free when I had some technicians coming to do work on my solar panels. All he said was that I must insure it. We both insure with NFU but they would not insure it with me for the one day I needed it even though the guys using it had the tickets.

Yes I have iPaf 1b for static boom, needing insurance for owner operator for tracked cherry picker, many thanks
You’ll be ok then if it’s not something your broker can offer you the I’m sure the hire company would be able to help with either themselves or with someone they work with

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
