Can you make tidy silage bales with a 355rc if so what is the trick ? I have got the density set to max on the door but the MPS spring is set about 3/4 , would it help if I tightened it to max ? I have a twin rotor rake making even rows as wide as the pick up so that's not really an issue . I swapped the pressure cartridge/valve over in the block as the baler was not lugging tractor down when full and that helped but still the bales are no were near as even shaped as those from a fusion that I lugged for my Father in law even though the stuff I baled was nearer to haylage than silage .
I seem to get the weight in the bales, circa 700kgs of chopped 40%DM grass but they just aren't the nice round barrels other balers seem to make even in wet grass .
Claas seem to have bigger but fewer rollers than other balers , would this be the reason , if so why do Claas do that ? I nearly bought a John Deere baler instead as they had a good reputation for making neat silage bales but was put off by the reputation for not being able to bale dry straw so went with the Claas instead which to be fair bales anything put in front of it .
