Anybody got any experiences good or bad with Claas 8ft trailed, 2 drum mower conditioners?
They're not a popular machine but is that because they're best avoided, because nobody wants 8ft mowers or because drums aren't as fashionable as discs?

i had a class corto I think, 8ft with conditioner, 98 I think, was shite just would not mow. I think the drums are to big would be better with 3 smaller drums sold it 3 years ago.

Thanks, not what I wanted to hear! Was a Corto 252N that had caught my eye but I'll maybe leave it where it is.

Trouble with the 2 drum and conditioner principle is the crop flow from the drums is concentrated in he centre so only the centre of a conditioner does anything. Also the conditioner has to be set back behind the drums and lower to the ground. If you look at disc moco’ the conditioner centre line is just behind and above the cutter-bar. All brands of 2 drum moco’s were a compromise design even the great old Grasshopper for those that remember it or even the Kidd Clipper!!
