Hello, i need perforated grain trough for my Claas Tucano 450, but claas will have it available in the end of october. I want to make holes in ordinary grain trough, but i am not sure, what kind of holes i should make. Is here anyone, who has something like that and can take a photo? Thank you.

I have these type of things on my NH for doing beans. Religiously fit them each year but then find they soon get clogged with bits of bean chip or soil and then they are no better than the normal solid plates.

Personally I wouldn’t buy them again if I needed to do so.

I quite agree with you.
In my opinion they are a bit of a theoretical idea.
A very expensive idea as well!!!!

I’m always amazed how much makes it up the elevator with the door undone at the bottom of the returns elevator so I can’t imagine holes will do much

I have all returns covers off for beans now. As you say just having the door open at the bottom of the returns elevator isn’t enough by itself.

The perforated covers are fitted to the clean grain cross auger and the bottom of clean grain elevator. Not at all convinced they are worth fitting though.

I have one under the main front elevator too that I could use but it’s far too heavy and awkward to fit/remove so it doesn’t happen.

Those augar covers on my combine are hardened steel so not sure you are going to drill them easily. As Steevo says best to remove covers on the bottom of returns elevator. You won,t loose any beans and it will help clean the sample.

I have a perforated flap for both of the elevators on my axial flow and I was amazed at how much they took out. We cut stuff pretty dry compared to the UK though If your crops damp and sticky they are going to block up I guess.

It wouldn't be that hard to buy some perforated steel and make a set up of flaps up would it?

Mine are aftermarket bought from ebay usa for about 50 euros. I think they are standard practise on maize harvesting over there.

I had these type of covers. The trouble with these if you have damp admix in the sample they will fill up and cause material to build up on the inside .This will damage the elevator paddles badly. I had to renew the rubber paddles after cutting peas.

What size are those holes? I need it only in soy, so i am thinking about max 3mm, but yours look bigger.

I have compressor on my harvester, so i will clean it with air after 2-3 hectares.
